Camphill at the Confluence, z.s. is a voluntary association building on the tradition and history of the worldwide Camphill movement, creating villages that create opportunities for people with special needs to learn, work and live together in a friendly and respectful environment.
Petr and Turid Nejtko gave the impetus for the creation of Camphill on the Confluence, z.s. (then Camphill České Kopisty o.s.) and are considered its founders. The incorporated association is the legal form for the living local Camphill community.
The purpose of the association is:
- To create conditions for the local community to live and work together with people with special needs.
- Providing social services according to the Social Services Act.
- Running craft workshops and trade in these products.
- Organisation of cultural and educational activities.
- Organic farming and education.
The basis of our community is human relations, where respect, openness, truthfulness and willingness to solve difficult situations should prevail.
Our community offers and provides 2 social services - Sheltered Housing and a Day Services Centre. The human background for these services is created by the people who live here and by external collaborators. The material one is provided by our premises located in the centre of the village of Ceske Kopisty, which consists of several residential houses, workshops, a cultural hall, a garden, technical facilities, an adjacent farm and our fields (10 ha).
In a location with a centuries-old agricultural tradition, it was obvious to build on it. Here we develop organic vegetable gardening with bio dynamic elements, take care of the orchard, grow herbs and flowers. In order to carry out this activity and other related activities (eco-education, animal care, vegetable trade), in 2013 we founded the non-profit company Svobodný farma na soutoku, o.p.s., which was given the fields and the necessary facilities on lease.
Farming sets much of the rhythm of our year, which is complemented by the celebration of more than just Christian festivals.
Our operation is largely dependent on grants from social services, payments from social service users, donations and income from our Camphill Candle business. Further, our operation would not be possible without the Free Farm at the Confluence, Inc. organization and the volunteer work of the staff living here.
