Camphill creates vibrant, active and inclusive communities where people with learning disabilities and other support needs share their lives together.
The communities are located in a variety of beautiful settings across Scotland, from Dumfries to Aberdeen. Each offers a supportive community life with personalised opportunities to find purpose and belonging through a wide range of social, cultural and work activities. Camphill communities in Scotland support over 600 people with learning disabilities and other support needs, from early childhood through to older age. About two thirds live in community, with the rest coming in to work during the day.
The communities vary in size, and different communities specialise in working with people at different stages in their lives. Communities can be found in urban and in rural settings. Although each community therefore offers different opportunities, they share a common ethos and outlook: Camphill shared living supports people to live meaningful lives.
